Small Point B&B Mackinac Island
An Informative Review Of The Small Point Bed & Breakfast On Mackinac Island.
If you’re stressed out at work and irritated by the noisy city and need a getaway adventure then Mackinac Island is for you. Located near Lake Huron between the upper and lower peninsula, it is known for its historical landmarks and events, as well as its fur trade legacy. The island is also famed for its great nature and animal loving environment. But traveling here is not complete without a great place to stay. There are lots of lodgings to choose from, but one of the best is the Small Point B&B Mackinac Island.
Built in 1882, Small Point B&B was originally situated on a nearby bluff but was later moved to Lake Shore Drive as part of what would later become known as Mission Point Resort. The building is noted for being the only remaining Gothic Revival cottage on Mackinac, and it has been lovingly cared for and preserved. Being located on the outskirts of town, the cottage has a quiet, relaxed ambience which is perfect for those who want to enjoy quiet times with their loved one and family. Like the best accommodations on the island, Small Point has wide porches that allow guests to view amazing sunrises and sunsets over the Straits of Mackinac.
Small Point is among the few cottages that don't accept pets, so you will need to look elsewhere if you want to bring your canine or feline companion with you. There is also a strict no smoking policy enforced. Otherwise, conditions of stay pretty much mirror those of other establishments on the island. A deposit of one night's stay per room is required to secure a reservation, all but $20 of which is refundable if cancelled two weeks prior to arrival. Otherwise, the deposit is forfeited. A full continental breakfast is included in the rate. Guests are asked to refrain from eating in the rooms, however the porches have tables and chairs that can be used for this purpose if you choose not to use the dining room.
Small Point B&B Mackinac Island is one of the best places to enjoy a quiet, relaxing and romantic stay on this wonderful MI vacation destination. It is perfect for those who don't smoke and don't have any pets (or who might be allergic to them). It is also within easy traveling distance to the town, where there is a good selection of quality restaurants to choose from for dinners. You are sure to be impressed by the warmth and hospitality offered by this quaint 19th century cottage.
